That motor is designed to run at 32:1 gas to oil mix (4oz per gallon) and, being an air-cooled, hot-running head, is designed to use regular 2-stroke oil (like a chainsaw would use) instead of typical outboard 2-stroke oil. You'll want a CJ8 (Champion) or BM6A (NGK) plug gapped at. Should not be hard to obtain, an entire pre-made line assembly probably run you $25-$30. Should use a Chrysler/Force style fuel fitting. Mick, I am encouraged by the fact that you once owned the motor. Do whatever other cleanup was necessary and give it a go. Inspect the pull rope to be sure it wasn't used for rat food or bedding. Then I'd blow out the fuel line and see it it's clear. I believe it will run but I'd pull the plug and clean it. The throttle and shifter both work (not seized). It has compression when you pull the rope. Its like a 1969 or 1970 Wards Sea King J700. It belonged to his Dad who used it all the time and took good care of it. It was given to me by a friend 10 or so years ago. It would be easy to change out the fitting to a modern one of an original fitting is not available. It has a single fuel connector that looks a lot like an air hose fitting not the dual barb fitting that most outboards use. ![]() I couldn't find the fuel hose and fitting. I had no plans to use it, so I gave it to him. ![]() Click to expand.Halihunter was advertising for a motor and I had that 7 hp in my shed.
